CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR

Location: Home sites throughout Harford and Cecil Counties

DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS:

Leads and supervises a safe and productive working environment for volunteers and subcontractors in new home construction, remodeling and repairs.  Maintains material, vehicles, equipment, quality of construction, and production schedules.  Qualified candidate will possess excellent communication and people skills, is proficient in residential construction and exemplifies the Habitat mission.  Maintains accurate records and produces daily reports; computer literacy required. Must have clean driving record and have five years Construction Management and residential construction experience.  Works in the field and in an office environment, Tuesday through Saturday.

Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna is a non-profit which builds homes, community and hope for families and individuals within Harford and Cecil Counties. Our ReStore is growing and we are looking for outgoing, energetic and professional, individuals who want to work in a fun, fast-paced varying non-profit retail type environment that sells donated items ranging from furniture, building materials, tools, appliances and housewares to the public. All proceeds from the items sold builds more homes in our communities.

DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS

Has the ability to empathize and work with diverse personalities and people ranging from other staff, volunteers and the general public.
Goes above and beyond what is normally expected.
Willingness to learn new systems and adapt to changes within a workday.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Money-handling experience and a working knowledge of POS systems is essential.

Ability to effectively manage your time and prioritize tasks.
Knowledge of retail operations and building supplies as well as experience working in retail or building supply environment.
Ability to handle and defuse challenging situations with tact.
Someone who loves long walks, every season, poking things and pizza.
Desire to excel and grow within the affiliate and at the ReStore.
High school diploma required.
Must pass Criminal Background Check, Drug Screening and Sexual Offender Check.

DUTIES

-Welcome and assist customers in finding merchandise
-Operate the point of sale system and process cash and credit card transactions 
-Ensure register area is always organized, clean, free from clutter and safe 
-Resolve customer service issues at the cash register 
-Respond to customer inquiries over the phone 
-Work collaboratively with other staff to creatively streamline and improve systems and processes 
-Make in-store promotional signs, price tags, etc., as needed 
-Assist with logistics of customer pick ups 
-Restock, organize shelves and floor
-Maintain store and facility; clean shelves, bathrooms, and retail displays as well as restock merchandise as needed
-Assist staff and volunteers to prepare space for incoming items 
-Ensure register procedures and policies are followed 
-Process donated inventory quickly and efficiently
-Follows policy for pricing for all items before displaying them on the Retail floor.  Follows pricing structure where applicable; researches prices for unusual items by contacting appropriate retail operations in local area and utilizing internet resources for research.

Compensation: $10-$12 per hour depending on level of ability and skills of the applicant. All positions are part time-20 hours Tuesday through Saturday work weeks.  Saturdays are mandatory, but schedules can be flexible. Potential for full time employment with health benefits in the future.
